Answer: You will indeed need to open the port covers, their is a small 'nook' or 'groove' in the base of the cradle for the actual port cover when open. The LG Thrill cradle cannot unfortunately be used when a case is attached to the phone.
Question: Will this work with a case attached?
Answer: No. You have to remove the case.
Question: Is there a space for the mini HDMI to connect to the phone?
Answer: No. This LG Thrill cradle can only connect to the microUSB port when docked.
