I thought I would provide some
input on what to consider when purchasing a case for the Motorola V3 RAZR. There
are so many different kinds of cases, so I hope this helps you make a more
informed decision.
Different Types of Motorola
RAZR Cases
Form Fitted Style Cases
The form
fitted style cases for the Motorola V3 RAZR give you a case that you don’t
have to remove from the RAZR when you want to access its functions. This type of case is the
main production design for many companies. Most customers have found the form
fitted style RAZR cases exceptionally useful because they want their RAZR
completely protected from scratches or other damages. In many instances, the padding from fitted cases have protected against scratches. If you want a case that will fit like a glove, then choose a form
fitted style case. One thing to also consider is the fact that there is clear
vinyl covering the LCD and keypad, which will add extra protection, but may get
in the way when trying to access the keys.

Pouch Type Cases for the
Motorola V3 RAZR
Pouch type cases have become very popular in the wireless case industry within the past two
years. With a pouch type case, you can keep your phone on your side and access
quickly by opening a flap. Most flaps are designed with a magnetic closure, as
opposed to have a Velcro type closure which always wears out sooner or later. The benefit
in having a pouch type case is when you access the RAZR,
there won’t be anything in the way. You will be able to completely operate your
phone in its most naked state, which makes is ideal when using the keypad and
wanting to get a clear vision of the LCD screen. The Motorola V3 RAZR is most
susceptible to damage when it's being put in or taken out of the case, this is
where it can be accidentally knocked down to the ground and scratches can occur.
With a pouch type case, you always have to be careful when accessing the RAZR
during an incoming call.

Wallet Type Cases for the
Motorola V3 RAZR
Wallet type cases are limited
in production, not too many mobile case companies have produced this design type
yet. The wallet style case is useful if you’re someone on the go and want a
compact solution for your cell phone and organizing needs. You can store credit cards, business
cards, and other items in combination with holding the RAZR phone. When
considering a wallet type case, consider how many credit/business cards you
would normally store in your existing wallet. If you hold about 10-20 cards on
you, this might not be the ideal solution because you would find yourself in
need of additional storage later on.

Case
When purchasing any case,
consider what material it’s made out of!
Leather - Genuine
leather is a great material to use when constructing a Motorola V3 RAZR case.
Leather material makes the case last long, gives it a sleek look, and has the extra
bit of quality.
Aluminum - Companies
have just begun producing cases made out of Aluminum within the past few years.
The aluminum that is used is mainly derived from recycled air plane scrap. It is
the most durable material in the industry. Due to the manufacturing
complexities, there are only a few companies in China that currently manufacture
cases out of Aluminum, Innopocket, PDAIR, Monaco Cases, and a couple more.
There's been users of the aluminum cases that have dropped their device from a 3 story building and have
had absolutely no cosmetic or internal
damage done to their device. As far as looks, it's trendy if you are aiming for the more
high tech, non business attire fashion. It's silver finish make it beautiful.
Lamb Skin This material is a type of genuine leather, except it's very
smooth and soft. Lambskin has a distinct smell that can be closely compared to the smell
of a new leather belt or shoe. Although lambskin looks and feels nice, it
doesn't provide the same constructive support as genuine leather would because
of its lightweight thin composure.
Synthetic leather
Unfortunately, this is the main material that's being used in the market because of its low
material costs.
Synthetic leather looks just like genuine leather, except the material fails to
keep the case from lasting that long. It's become a trend to place photos or
graphics on cases, synthetic leather is used for these cases. I haven't seen any
genuine leather cases that have graphic imprints on them.
Rubber- Most of the
time, when a manufacture states the case is constructed with rubber, it used
mixed materials and a small percentage is rubber. As far as the lasting use of the case, you shouldn't have
any problems when rubber is used. This material should make the case less
expensive and able to outlast your device's lifespan.
Neoprene - This is a vinyl type
material that makes your case look sporty. Naturally, the material is cushiony
and would most likely prevent damage during an accident. It's inexpensive and if
the case is double stitched, you can look forward to using it for a long time.
Rat skin - Yes, there
are Motorola V3 RAZR cases that are made from rats. In mainland China, where
most of all cell phone cases are made, there is an abundance of rats. So, the
wise thing to do is to use the resources around. Rat skin (leather)
is soft like lambskin and durable like genuine leather...but would you really
want your case made out of a rat? I'll let you decide. No brand name
manufacture of mobile cases has gone this route, but it's common in a lot of
the no named products. Rat skin is inexpensive and abundant!
Pig Skin- Pig skin is
used commonly for the inside of a case, not the exterior. It has a very smooth
feel to it, and holds the case together. Not cheap, but used in the many quality
cases out there. If you are allergic to pigskin, make sure you ask the
manufacturer directly if pig skin is
used in their cases.
