Question: Will the charger work from the wall plug or is the USB connection for charging necessary?
Answer: The cradle needs a micro USB charger input. Whether its a solid micro USB connector, or a data cable/USB based charging adapter will not matter.

Comment: Nice sturdy stand but the phone is very hard to set on the charge connector. Also, I have to remove the cover each time so that the S3 will fit the cradle.

Comment: Was a little buggy with the 2nd battery (ordered from here) in the charger. Thought it was a bad battery from here. But tried replacing the charging plug with another one. Charges both phone and battery great! No return needed!

Comment: I agree with the previous reviewer that is difficult to insert the usb connector into the bottom of the phone. Also, you can not place the phone in the charger if you have a case on the phone. I had to remove the clear plastic guide from the charger to allow the phone to fit in the charger with a thin case. Overall, it does charge the phone and a spare battery at the same time.
